American film editor John Refoua was born on December 8, 1964. For the movie Avatar, he received a nomination for Best Film Editing at the 2009 Academy Awards. James Cameron and Stephen E. Rivkin were both nominated together with him.
Refoua worked on several TV shows, including “Touched by an Angel”, “New York Undercover”, “Law & Order”, “Dark Angel”, “CSI: Miami”, “Reno 911”, “Sleepy Hollow”, “Balls of Fury”, and “21 & Over.” In “The Equalizer” (starring Melissa Leo) and the upcoming Southpaw, Refoua collaborated with filmmaker Antoine Fuqua after “Olympus Has Fallen.”
